Mace is having a terrible day. The girl he likes in school is asked out by another, he is in serious trouble for punching a student and sneaking off in detention, and when he tries to leave the orphanage he is attacked by a creature. Meanwhile, the girl Namah discovers an evil plot and her and her half sister Lilith escape from the palace before they are killed. But these problems will soon seem small as the children learn of the return of true evil and fulfill their role as dream keepers.

An orphan who grew up dealing with the abuse of his caretaker. He has become a troublemakers who likes to see himself as someone special, but things are never easy for him.

Namah

She meets Mace during his escape from detention. She is a hidden child born from an affair in the royal family and must always stay out of public view.

Lilith

The legitimate daughter of the town ruler. Mace is in love with her, but she has other interests.
