One day Kelu and her young siblings discover a sleeping dragon in the caves near their home. The dragon wakes and decides to punish the trespass by making Kelu a pet. She manages to escape, but she is reminded of the incident by the appearance of dragon scales. She ignores these obvious tokens until one day a group of refugees threatens her family for the scales. Kelu is forced out into a storm to get more and finds herself returning to the very dragon who would make her it’s own.

Main Characters

Kelu

A bold and daring woman who is fearful of nothing and works hard to protect her many siblings.

Songbird

A goblin who is a child of the dragon. He is younger and more human than the other goblins and has been secretly admiring Kelu.

Junuka

A foreign boy from the south who only wanted to be free. While joining the kings men he nearly dies and becomes the servant of Temmrien who gives aid to the northern people.
