Tyler Sorenson (aka Vortex) breaks into a laboratory to save a boy named Joseph who he had seen there when he was a child. Upon escape, the two are taken in by a group of heroes that call themselves YForce. Tyler and Joseph live and train with this group under the guidance of their leader Matriarch (aka Oracle) who has gathered these heroes for a special purpose.
