The young woman Sophia steps on a bat in the street and takes it home for care. This bat is the vampire Frederick who shamefully escapes and decides to get revenge, however, when they meet again the following day she terrifies him with her strength and he only manages to show what an incapable vampire he is. Sophia expresses that they should be friends and offers to protect him so that he can see more of the world.
